What should I know before purchasing a Gas Fireplace Insert?
I have a gas fireplace and I’m interested in getting a gas fireplace insert to take advantage of the heat and prevent the loss of heat up the chimney. What do I need to know before walking into a fireplace store? What is a direct-vent insert? What are the most efficient, safest inserts?

One of the major issues with any fireplace is the heat you lose up the chimney. Fireplace inserts can solve this problem quickly and easily.
For more information about this topic, check out this article:

Check the measurements of your fireplace, do a little research on inserts (easy to find on the internet) also expect to pay for an insert for the chimney to prevent any carbon monoxide in your home.
Check prices on the i nsert as well as the venting and the labor of installation.
