what is this called?
where u have the fake logs in the fireplace that look like it is actually burning but its not really burning it is electric? waht are those type of things called.

Those are natural gas fireplaces if I am thinking the same thing as you are describing. It is just gas burning with fake logs as decoration. The same thing that would be in natural gas stoves.

In addition to natural gas fireplaces, new technology has allowed the invention of flueless fireplaces which are fueled by denatured alcohol. The link below shows a number of these coupled with a waterfall feature.
