what does the wet and freezing weather do to the plywood sheeting left exposed on a roof of a new home ?
we have a new home being built and its been framed in and left exposed in this nasty weather does the weather effect the plywood – fireplace insert etc ?

If left long enough, it will de-laminate and be ruined. If the contractor is working steady, I wouldn’t worry too much unless the roof is exposed for a long perior of time.
The wood should be allowed to dry thoroughly before enclosing tho. Good luck.

The sheeting used for a roof is "exterior grade" and has waterproof glue and a slight coating to resist water. There’s lots of airflow outside so any snow/rain that gets on it will either melt, drain or blow off and the airflow will dry the surface moisture… no worries unless it’s uncovered for 6 months or so.

The plywood is typically exterior grade (meaning its internal glue is waterproof). The weather will not harm it.
