Umbrellas are subject to many forces on a windy day. Please help me!?

Umbrellas are subject to many forces on a windy day. When you hold the umbrella upright, its curved surface is above you like a dome. When the wind blows horizontally, why does the umbrella feel lighter than normal?

Pls answer it in a complete sentence and it should be at least 2 to 4 sentences..

I’ll give a 10pts for every answer..

What painting with people in a line with umbrellas hung on the wall on the set of "The Cosby Show"?

The painting I’m thinking about was, I think, over the fireplace on the set and I remember people with umbrellas. Any suggestions?

Plane— Are umbrellas allowed in carry on?

STORMING HEAVY IN FLORIDA! :-(

Are umbrellas allowed in carry on?

Umbrellas are subject to many forces on a windy day. If you hold your hand just beyond the edge ….?

Umbrellas are subject to many forces on a windy day. If you hold your hand just beyond the edge of the umbrella while it is still tipped into the wind, you will feel that the airspeed there is even higher than that of the wind. Could anyone explain this for me?

Why are umbrellas not allowed at Marlins games, but are allowed at other stadiums?

I live in South Florida and this issue has been bugging me since I moved here about eight years ago. It makes no sense to me that umbrellas are prohibited at Marlins games but allowed at other stadiums. I know for a fact that both New York teams (Mets, Yanks) allow them. The only reason I ever get as to why they’re prohibited at the Marlins stadium is because they can be used as weapons. Well there are a bunch of other things that can be used as weapons. I can throw my shoe, use my cigarette lighter, throw my beer, use a pen or pencil to stab someone, etc. I wouldn’t do any of those things, I’m just trying to make a point. Everyone knows that it can rain at any given moment in Florida. I hate getting wet from rain and not being allowed to bring an umbrella is one reason why I rarely go to Marlins games. I’m sure the umbrella ban is one reason why they have the worst attendance every year. I wouldn’t have a problem if this was a league-wide rule, but as I said, other teams allow it.

So does anyone have an explanation for this besides the weapon thing?

Thanks

Why are most umbrellas black?

It just seems like, it’s already raining and dark, so wouldn’t you like to have something bright to be under?
So why wouldn’t we use white umbrellas to reflect sunshine instead of black ones to absorb it?
I have 4 umbrellas from Europe and none of them is black, only one has black in it, so I’m not buying the stain arguement.
