I used my gas stoves oven, And after i was done it would not turn off i had to turn off the main gas line for it to turn off. I thought the knob was stripped, so i used pliers turn it , But i got the same results. Also why doesn’t the pilot turn off if the gas is off.

On an old gas stove, about 35 years old, it has pilot lights.

If that pilot light goes out, will the gas automatically shut off.

I don’t know if all old gas stoves will do that, or were there ever any that weren’t made that way and the gas will just keep running.

I want to move into a new apartment and the apartment I’m interested in might have an electric stove. I’ve been using gas stoves all my life (24 years) and my BGE (Baltimore’s Gas and Electric) bill has always been between -0 a month, depending on the time of year. Will having an Electric stove increase my monthly bill?

We have Whirlpool, alot of Bosh, chinese and brands made in Italy. Which should I consider?

I’ve just moved into a great place with one of the older Wedgewood gas stoves and ovens… I’ve cooked using gas ovens before but several years ago. I’m getting ready to cook Thanksgiving dinner and just wondering if there are differences in cooking time when using a gas oven. Any tips you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I’m afraid from the health problems that electric stoves might cause. Also, I heard that electric stoves are more expensive in buying and in fixing. I heard also that gas stoves are faster and better than the electric in cooking and boiling water. Thanks

It is a brand new stove I just got – I have LP gas – and have had gas stoves before and the way this lights very fiercely and burns high – it seems wrong – is there some sort of regulator or adjustment I can make in the back of the stove or on the burner to fix this? Thanks!
