Can I drill a small hole in a cast iron stove?

the clasp on a small wood burning stove has come lose. the screws holding on the clasp is wrung or
perhaps the metal on the stove itself. If I am unable to get the new screws to fix the catch is drilling
the metal and fixing it with a small nut and bolt an option through the existing screw holes .it would mean drilling out maybe 3mm of cast iron to let the bolt out. would there be a risk of the metal shattering ? any other suggestions ?

Where to find a NON non-stick waffle maker?

I want to find a regular waffle maker. NOT one that has a non-stick surface. Can’t have non-stick, teflon because I have a parrot.(the non-stick fumes can kill them) My grandmother had an old waffle maker that had, I think, an aluminum cooking surface. I have a cast iron one but thats really a stick with irons on end that you use for outdoor cooking. Any ideas where to find a NON non-stick waffle maker?

What is the next best thing to teflon nonstick pans?

I love nonstick pans but hate their short safe useful life. I’m willing to trade off some of the nonstick properties for longevity whats my choice. Teflon is # 1 then a well seasoned cast iron is # 2 ( hate the weight tho) whats next, anodized aluminum, stainless, or copper(bit pricey).

I have some questions about a wood stove!?

I am wanting to install a wood stove into a house me and my wife have. The walls are concrete walls and I was wondering about burning wood in it. The wood stove is a cast iron free standing wood stove from www.harborfreighttools.com I have a free supply of wood pallets..that I could cut up and burn. Do you think there is any problem using that type of wood to burn. I would keep the the flue cleaned out. Where would I buy the stove pipe to install it at? Also what is the best and easiest way to cut a 6" hole thro a concrete block wall? and tips or suggestions? I am trying to keep our home warm on a budget..

THERE is no issues with the insurance..the house we have is in Mexico and is a concrete home..

Are there 2v aluminum intake manifolds for Ford 289 engines?

I have a 68 Ford Mustang with a 289. I have searched, but haven’t been able to find an aluminum 2 barrel intake manifold for a 289. I have the intake manifold and heads removed since I’m repairing blown head gaskets, so I figured I’d change out the intake to a much lighter one before putting back the stock cast iron intake. Or is it possible to use a 4 barrel aluminum intake with the dual plane since the holes seem to line up, but would I have any problems with air fuel mixture or anything like that?

I cant find a welding job in ohio?

i have been a mig welder for 30 years off and on.i planned to retire this year but i need at least a part time job.every welding place i go wants a TIG welder.am i a dinosaur? gotta be someone in ohio that still uses a mig? i only do steel,i dont mess with aluminum or cast iron.maybe i should go back to welding school
