What is the best cookware on the market? Cast Iron, Stainless Steel, Copper, Enamelware…?

So many to choose from. Copper heats fast but cast iron holds the heat better. Stainless Steel cleans up easily. I usually stay away from aluminum,

What type of cookware do you prefer?
If your choice is cast iron, please indicate whether enameled cast iron or "seasoned" cast iron (like grandma’s). Thanks.

Aluminum pots and pans?

There seems to be a load of buzz out there regarding the use of aluminum pots and pans. They apparently may cause Alzheimer’s or bone degeneration in women. I have some cast iron pans that I use when ever possible but they are not always practical. I’d like some of you kitchen pros to give me some sound advice regard the use of aluminum in the home kitchen. I know they are used in food service organizations….
I look forward to some informative replys.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks Laura. Gevera I’ve printed the artcile and will read it when I have more time. Thanks.

I've heard cola can remove rust fromm things like a cast iron campfire pie iron. How does this work?

Which cola is best? Coke? Pepsi? Faygo? How long? Do I scrub it with anything afterwards? Will this also work for flatware that might not be silverware… or that little cap on the sink that’s starting to rust? I’ve also heard using aluminum foil like a scouring pad works. Does it? Is it bad for the metal? What about cast iron?

Can I melt/cast small amounts of copper/brass/aluminum/zinc with what I have?

I have a cast iron crucible, and a MAPP gas torch. I can get copper/zinc/brass/aluminum to melt but can I get the metal hot enough without a furnace to melt the metal? If not what cheap small additions would I need? I live in an appartment with a ground floor patio so no room to store anything big, or even medium. I am only trying to cast small shapes. (1 inch or so)

I can sometimes use a portable forge to heat the metal, would that work?

Also what fluxes for the different metals would I need?

Can you cook with cast iron on an electric stove and how?

I want to use cast iron cookware to cook on an electric stove but heard it could warp or crack it. What should I do? I also heard cast iron has even heat. What is the best cookware to use on electric for even cooking? I really do not like aluminum.

how do i repair a stripped bolt hole in aluminum after someone incorrectly installed a helicoil which failed .

oftentimes someone will use a drill size larger than specified or they may intermix threads such as standard or metric. ive never had a properly installed helicoil fail before in aluminum, cast iron, or steel. maybe if its really screwed up i could have a machinist make a sleeve with threads on the outside and threads on the inside to match my bolt , i could have the machinist drill, tap, and install this sleeve for me. i certainly dont want the person who screwed up the helicoil to touch the job again.
