Space Heaters?

I have tried SO many space heaters:

- Ceramic Tower
- Electric Stove/Fireplace
- Oil-Filled Radiator
- Stanley Ceramic Heater/Blower
- Honeywell Utility Heater
- Radiant Light Heater
- and NOW a micathermic heater

nothing is working! I’m trying to supplement my electric baseboard heat, which heats the entire common area of my apartment, by trying to heat only the area that i’m sitting in…. what should I do?? What else should I try?

How much does it cost to run the burner on a gas stove?

The reason i as is that i recently moved into an apartment that has free gas but that also means they control the heat. So what i have stared doing is running 2-3 burners on the stove and it heats the place up real nice. My two concerns are 1: is their gas bill going to be insane? and is it safe health wise because there is little to no ventilation.

What will be the best thing to put in a litter box?

What is the best ventless fireplace during power outage?

I went through the ice storm last year and we had no electric for almost two weeks. We had to go stay with my mother-in-law b/c she has a fireplace and we had a small child we were worried about getting too cold. Her water is on pump though, so we had heat, but no water. Her stove is also electric, so we had to try to cook in the fireplace. I’d like to get a ventless gel fireplace for my apartment so that when…not even if, but when…it happens again, we can stay home and have a cooktop and running water. I don’t even know where to start! I need something inexpensive to buy and to buy the refills for as we are kinda low income. I also need something that puts off enough heat to keep at least a bedroom, preferably my living room, warm by itself. I have two very young children (one 2 and one 6 weeks) so I need something that is very clean burning. And it needs to be small as space is an issue. Anyone have any suggestions? Please include link to website where I can buy.

Another fireplace question…?

Okay so painting over the brick fireplace in my apartment is out of the question because everyone has said i will never get it off when i leave. I dont have tools to put up the sheet rock surround so my idea was what spraying acoustic ceiling spray onto the brick and then either leaving it white or spray painting over that. Would the ceiling spray scrape off easily when i’m ready to remove it or does it have some kind of paint in it already?

Theres this fireflace that I want to buy off of craigslist and it's a gas fireplace…?

What's better & more economical-elec, gas, oil, coal as far as heating for a fireplace/iron stove?

Renovating an apartment in country/cabin style. I want a cast iron stove or fireplace. Not sure what the best route would be. Electric, gas, coal, or oil. Already has hot water radiators but this apartment will only be used occasionally by me. Don’t really like the idea of gas but I’m easily persuaded with enough info. Wood seems easy enough…coal is okay, and already have a good starting supply. You can email me direct with info. one_jamie@yahoo.com

How can I heat my home with a gas stove?

Heat is included with my rent, but I cannot control the temperature – which is unfortunate for me because I like my winters nice and toasty. I have an electric space heater, but they are incredibly expensive to run. So, I had an idea…

I live in an apartment that has a new gas stove in the kitchen. I am required to pay electric, but gas is included with the price of my rent.

How can I increase the temperature of my apartment during the winter months for free, using the gas and/or gas stove?
