Is there any benefit for casting ingots to sell to scrap yards?
If I cast my own aluminum ingots (4-5 lbs) from soda cans, will recycling/scrapping centers still accept it? If so, will they offer more money for being in a more raw form? Would I be able to cast copper and bronze ingots as well as other metals?

if you have the resources to melt that volume of metal down thats freakin sweet
most facilities recycle the metal using high heat purification. they would have to melt down your bars again, i would say no

If the aluminum is still in ‘can’ form, the yard can tell what it is and pay you the full value. If you melt it down, they have no easy way to tell what it is for sure, and you may only get paid ‘pot metal’ rates (1/10 or less of aluminum rates). I think re-melting it will end up costing you, both in energy and in reimbursement – don’t do it.
