I have a ceiling fan, do i need a blower on my gas fireplace also? Would it help heat the room faster?
The gas fireplace is in the living room where the ceiling fan is. The hearth and fireplace store owners told me that if i had a ceiling fan, there was really no need for a blower.

Yes. The fan circulates heat that is already in the room. The gas furnace with the blower (and I thought they all had blowers) blows the heat up through the pipes and into the rooms. It does get some airflow working but it does not continue circulating as when the furnace heats up the room, it and the blower shut off. It is then the fan that continues to circulate air. Remember that the switch is turned one way for summer and the other for winter. One takes up and then outward and back down the walls while the other brings in and down and out and up the walls and back toward the center. I can never remember which is which. Heat rises so might be to push downward and to circulate outward and back up and around to push down through the blades. That is how I think it works but am not sure of the up or downward push by the fan. As long as circulates…..
