How much to put in a gas fireplace in a house in Mass?
The house has nothing no chimney no basement??
Yes gas in the heating!

Gas fireplaces DO need a chimney since the outside air is provided through tubing along side the exhaust when installed. There are vent less heaters, but not fireplaces. A gas fireplace starts around $3000 plus you need the chimney added to the cost.

Luckily you don’t need a chimney for gas fireplaces anymore. they make vent free model.. Do you have gas in your house already?
It you are using propane it will be fairly cheap since the tank will be outside and the line is just run outside the house to where your fireplace would be and right through the wall. depending on how long the line has to be it shouldnt cost more that a couple hundred bucks. the biggest cost will be filling the propane tank and if your provider makes you pay a deposit
