Has anyone used oats for home heating?
I have a pellet stove, and have burned corn in it. How about oats?

I use oats for home eating! But seriously, one grain is as good as another

I would try it alone first and see if it can burn if not try mixing it 50/50 with pellets. Make sure your manufacture of the stove allows multi-fuel, If not you will void your warranty. Corn burns well but creates allot of clinkers but also produces corrosive gases that can corrode your stove and vent pipe. I’ve seen stainless steel last 2 years on heavy heating with long vent systems. I have also seen corn wear out the burn pot 5 times as fast because the heat and corrosiveness. Try cherry pits they burn extremely well.
