gas stove will not turn off?
I used my gas stoves oven, And after i was done it would not turn off i had to turn off the main gas line for it to turn off. I thought the knob was stripped, so i used pliers turn it , But i got the same results. Also why doesn’t the pilot turn off if the gas is off.

Thje pilot light should not go out when the oven is turned off. It is a safety feature so you do not need to manually take a match to light it when needed.
It sounds like the main control unit is shot, you’d better call someone in to replace it, your looking at, maybe $90.00 to $120.00 for a new unit plus labor and travel time.
