Our pellet stove is not releasing smoke up through the chimney. Instead its smoking up our house. We cleaned out the chimney pipe and that wasnt the problem.
Any ideas on what could be wrong? Basically the smoke is coming inside the house instead of being released outside.
I found a broucher and it said it used up to 40 pounds of pellets per day and a 40# bag was priced at about .50.
I just started working as an exterior home inspector.
I’m having trouble distinguishing between when a chimney has a fireplace below it and when it doesn’t.
Since chimneys don’t always have fireplaces below them, how can you tell for sure?

Asking an owner isn’t an option….since much of the time they aren’t home.
I own an old house which has been taken by the city by emminent domain. Of course, I’m not happy that they are tearing down a perfectly good old house, and trying to get the Historical Preservation involved failed.
But anyway – the city said I could take whatever I wanted out of the house before they demolished it to make a throughway street. So I’ve got this beautiful fireplace that has these antique tiles. I would like to know if anyone knows how to remove these old tiles without breaking them or damaging the tiles. Any ideas?

the blower fan has speed settings that work,but the auger seems to stay at the same speed whitch is too fast
I have electric heating system and a gas fireplace. I’d like to start using my gas fireplace more than my electric heating since gas is supposedly cheaper. What temperature should I keep myheat on when using the fireplace?
the pellets in my pellet stove will not manually fall to the bottom of the hopper do they make a vibrator to help or is this just a crappy model ?
